QOFcountdown - QOF Software for GPs

The Quality and Outcomes Framework is an important component of the New Contract for NHS General Practitioners. However, it can be difficult to keep track of your progress against the framework.

Whether you are already doing well, or whether you have lagged a bit in previous years, QOFcountdown can help you. For those used to doing well QOFcountdown makes it easier, and for those who have struggled in the past it can help you target your catch-up activities where they are most cost-effective.

QOFcountdown is a well-established support utility, allowing doctors using INPS Vision to maximise the financial benefits of the nGMS contract. It allows sophisticated financial analysis together with numerical and graphical interpretation of your data.

QOFcountdown is already in use in many Vision practices in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and is fully endorsed by INPS as their preferred QOF analysis solution.

Features in Brief

  • QOFcountdown comes as an Excel spreadsheet workbook with extensive automation built in. No Excel skills are needed; just the ability to open the file and click a button on the Control Panel.
  • QOFcountdown can be run daily using the overnight daily generated Clinical Audit data so your figures are always right up to date.
  • QOFcountdown takes data directly from Vision Clinical Audit and automatically shows your progress in numerical and graphical formats and allows sophisticated analysis of your financial position.
  • The full assessment takes account of practice size and the latest national and practice disease prevalence figures.
  • Any apparent anomaly in your prevalence rates is highlighted so that your registers can be checked.
  • Your clinical domain with the most scope for financial improvement is highlighted, so that you can exert extra effort in these areas.
  • All the clinical domains each have a page of analysis. Any underperforming indicators are highlighted and the deficit is costed at prevalence-adjusted rates, to help you decide where to focus your efforts.
  • The 'pounds per patient' rate is also calculated to indicate where improvements are most cost-effective.
  • QOFcountdown can also retrieve the names and other details of patients corresponding to each Indicator, as Negatives, Numerator, Denominator, or Register, and display the total 'value' of their outstanding reminders, AND, by clicking on a patient name, you can open that patient record directly in Consultation Manager.
  • Coloured graphs show your progress over time. These are broken down by clinical domain and individual indicator. There are also charts showing organisational, total clinical and total points progression.

Fully Endorsed by INPS for all Vision Practices

Shared Database Practices

A few practices work on the basis of shared Vision database between two or more practices, and Clinical Audit cannot separate the data between the different practices. QOFcountdown can help here because it CAN separate the data for the monthly and interim QMAS reports and give a practice-level analysis. And though it does not separate the totals for other reports such as daily reporting and monitoring, it can list the individual patient names by practice for any of these reports to help practices identify work to be done.
